SOCIAL JUSTICE

"...Charity must be in our hearts and from our hearts, and a charity such as Jesus Christ practiced while on earth."

~ Catherine McAuley ~

At St Brendan's, our commitment to social justice is deeply rooted in the Mercy values.  We are proud to follow in thefootsteps of the Sisters of Mercy, dedicating our efforts to making a positive impact in our community and beyond.

Throughout the year, we organise various fundraising events that demonstrates a commitment to helping others in everyway we can.

Term 1-Caritas Australia (Gold Coin Donation for Pancake Tuesday and Solidarity Walk and Project Compassion Boxes forfamilies and each classroom)

Term 2-Winter Appeal for St Vincent dePaul (alternate years non-perishable food items or winter woollies)

Term 3-Footy Colours Day (Gold Coin donation for a local or diocesan cause)

Term 4-Christmas Giving Tree (wrapped gift for a girl or boy or a gold coin donation for families within our school community or St Vinnies)

In all these activities, we honour the legacy of the Sisters of mercy by living out their teachings of love, compassion andjustice.

Our school community is dedicated to making a tangible difference, guided by the enduring values of mercy and social justice.
